Al-Azhar PhD Scholarship

At Supporting Sunni Scholars, our mission is clear: to preserve and elevate traditional Islamic scholarship as a vital means of addressing the complex challenges of the modern world.

In pursuit of this vision, we are honored to announce a fully funded PhD Scholarship at the historic Al-Azhar University. This initiative is designed for dedicated students of knowledge who seek to bridge the gap between classical mastery and contemporary application.

We are seeking scholars who possess not only academic rigor but a profound commitment to the Ummah’s intellectual heritage.

• Application Deadline: January 31st 2025
• In-Person Interviews: February 2nd – February 4th | Cairo, Egypt.

This scholarship provides the financial and institutional support necessary for scholars to focus entirely on their contribution to the Islamic tradition. We invite all qualified candidates to step forward into this noble pursuit.

Requirements

• Achieved Masters Level qualification in relevant subject field.
• Research proposal for proposed topic including anticipated time of completion. 
• Highly Preferred: Fluency in both Arabic and English speaking and writing.
