|Every Rabi al-Awwal, communities across the globe unite to celebrate the birth of the Best of Creation ﷺ through sacred gatherings of Hadith, devotional poetry, and deep study of the Sira. The poetry and scholarship of luminaries like Imam al-Busiri, Imam Yusuf al-Nabhani, and Imam Ahmad Rida Khan are timeless treasures of our heritage. We invite you to carry this celebration forward into lasting knowledge and transformative spiritual practice.
AlhamduliLlah, we are honoured to introduce the Mawlid Fund. Each year, our global community comes together to critically edit, print, and distribute distinguished classical works dedicated to the life, miracles, teachings, and blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ. Join us in building an enduring legacy of devotion and sacred learning for generations to come.
The Burdah of Imam al-Busiri
For the blessed season of Mawlid 1448 A.H., Supporting Sunni Scholars proudly announces its Mawlid Fund project: the crown jewel of prophetic panegyrics, Al-Burdah, formally titled Al-Kawakib al-Durriyya fi Madh Khayr al-Bariyya ﷺ (The Resplendent Stars in Praise of the Best of Creation ﷺ).
Composed by the prince of poets and foremost scholar-poet, Imam Sharaf al-Din Muhammad ibn Sa'id al-Busiri (d. 696 A.H.), the Burdah stands as the undisputed bride of devotional poetry. For centuries, its radiant verses have illuminated gatherings across the Islamic world, embraced by generations of scholars competing to serve its lines to gain proximity to the Beloved Prophet ﷺ.
This special edition presents the text with the meticulous vocalisation, textual corrections, and analytical marginalia (Hawashi) of the eminent twentieth-century polymath and defender of the Prophetic tradition, Imam Yusuf al-Nabhani. By pairing al-Busiri’s timeless verses with al-Nabhani’s scholarly precision, the Mawlid Fund 1448 A.H. delivers an authoritative, illuminated volume designed to revive and elevate devotional study and recitation in gatherings worldwide.
If you become a means for disseminating books on invoking prayers upon the Prophet ﷺ, then you will be blessed and enveloped in Allah’s prayers for as long as these books continue to be read and circulated—perhaps even until the Day of Resurrection.
Thus, whenever you aspire to receive immense spiritual aid from the Prophet ﷺ, let your share be significant in spreading these books and these invocations among people, as a means of drawing closer to the noble presence of the Prophet ﷺ.
The Salawat Collection of Imam al-Nabhani
Sharing literature dedicated to blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ serves as an enduring Sadaqah Jariyah, enveloping supporters in divine grace each time these pages are recited worldwide. At the forefront of this tradition stands the Palestinian polymath Imam Yusuf al-Nabhani, who devoted his life to crafting literary masterpieces in honor of the Messenger ﷺ. His monumental contributions include a comprehensive two-thousand-page encyclopedia exploring prophetic prayers across Qur’anic exegesis, Hadith, jurisprudence, and Tasawwuf; three thematic anthologies curating invocations from the early scholars, righteous gnostics, and classical expressions of praise; and two concise devotional manuals designed for daily spiritual reflection, which together feature one thousand distinct formulae of blessings. This year, Supporting Sunni Scholars and Dar al-Imam Yusuf al-Nabhani are uniting to publish all six foundational texts in critically edited, illuminated editions, ensuring these sacred treasures continue to inspire and illuminate hearts across the globe.
al-Nazm al-Badi fi Mawlid al-Shafi ﷺ
For the inaugural Mawlid Fund project, 1446 AH, we were delighted to bring to you the first ever critically-edited version of Imam al-Nabhani’s famous poem on the Blessed Birth of the Prophet ﷺ. Not only was this edition edited according to four unique manuscripts, it also featured the great Imam’s own footnotes and annotations. The whole text was produced in beautifully handwritten calligraphy and designed to the highest of standards, befitting for the Blessed Mawlid. One example of shear joy, happiness and love for the coming of the Prophet ﷺ is that of Imam Yusuf al-Nabhani. When he sold out three of his works, he printed 10,000 copies of this Mawlid, al-Nazm al-Badi and distributed them freely so that Muslims praise the Best of Creation ﷺ and share this felicity.
Using cutting-edge technology, DIYN endeavours to continue serving the corpus of the Muslim literary heritage. With your support, more works can be researched and printed, with subsequent distribution throughout the Muslim world, from Malaysia to Morocco, Syria to Saudi Arabia. The Mawlid Fund will provide a recurring funding source for the production of literature on the Prophet ﷺ.
The beloved Prophet ﷺ stated regarding charity, "The believer's shade on the day of resurrection will be his charity."
